The American Foundation for Healing for Survivors of Sexual Abuse is the first foundation to concentrate solely on exposing the health consequences of sexual abuse and teaching preventive measures to prevent disease. For the millions of American men and women who have been sexually abused, there is still hope for recovery – with the knowledge of how disease can happen and how it can be prevented.

Since the ACE studies have demonstrated a clear connection with adverse childhood experiences and leading causes of death in the U.S., it is important that this information be made available to the general public and in particular to those who have been sexually abused. Families can be educated to support the sexually abused survivor instead of catering to the abuser, as so often happens.
